We began the 2013 season of Riverkeeper/Citizen tributary Enterococcus sampling on 5/4 on Sparkill Creek in Rockland and the Pocantico River in Westchester. Both had lower than “normal” fecal contamination which we believe is due to the extended period of low rainfall we’ve experienced. The other tribs – Rondout C, Wallkill R, Catskill C and Esopus C will begin later in May.
