The Cities of Newburgh and Beacon are planning a candlelight vigil called Candles for a Cleaner Hudson for July 23. Below are the details for the times of the event in Beacon:
Federal agencies have made it clear the leftover toxic sediments will pose significant health and economic risks for generations if they’re not removed now. Join us on July 23 to celebrate our towns’ most treasured natural and economic resource—the Hudson River—and conduct a candlelight vigil for its full recovery from PCB pollution. Residents of Coeymans will gather with citizens from other waterfront communities for a stunning display showing the world we haven’t forgotten our river.
Light the way to a cleaner Hudson —
for the sake of our river, our children and our children’s children
