The Roe Jan Watershed Association is partnering with Riverkeeper to pilot a water quality monitoring project on the Roeliff Jansen Kill, known as the Roe Jan.

The project is kicking off with a meeting at organizer Kaare Christian’s home in Germantown on April 2 at 10 a.m. People interested in taking samples or assisting with outreach are invited to come and learn about the project and how they can get involved. For address and directions to Mr. Christian’s home, please RSVP to Jen Epstein at [email protected].

At 212-square miles, the Roe Jan’s watershed, primarily in Columbia County and Northern Dutchess County, is one of the largest in the Hudson River Valley. Monthly sampling in 2016 is expected to be targeted to the Germantown area, starting in May.
