Entero Count

Enterococcus (“Entero”) is a fecal indicating bacterium that lives in the intestines of humans and other warm-blooded animals. It is the EPA preferred indicator for sewage contamination.

About this location:

This small landing is at the west end of the Bronx Kill near its confluence with the Harlem River. There is a large combined sewer overflow outfall on the Bronx side of the channel a few yards to the east. Site Coordinator: Chris Girgenti. Site Sponsor: Randalls Island Park Alliance.
